Alice Jackson faces the greatest test of her life.
Her first teaching job.
But this is no ordinary school.
And after she falls for another teacher, it is Alice who is about to learn a lesson - in love.
Downthorpe Hall is a boarding school for the rich and privileged, where the suitcases are filled with designer goods and the driveway is lined with chauffeur-driven Bentleys.
In the space of just a few weeks, Alice must navigate her way around staffroom politics and playground cliques -- and most importantly, get to know the handsome and enigmatic Charles Brown.
But there are some things that can't be taught in a classroom - and Alice will have to learn to trust her heart over her head.
Can she really get close to a man who is as dangerous as he is gorgeous?
And can she juggle troublesome classes, a new relationship, and secure a million-pound donation to the school?
Alice had better do her homework -- there is plenty to be learnt in the lessons in love.
'Lessons in Love' is the second in Emma Lee-Potter's brilliant series of 'School Ties' novellas.
It is perfect for fans of Sophie Kinsella and Jane Green.

Lessons in Love (Lessons Learned Book 2) eBook Emma Lee-Potter Reviews
Not wild about novellas. The cover was adorable. I really liked the main character, Alice. She had fortitude and wit.
This was an enjoyable novella over all. Alice faces the classic dilemma- she's fallen for a bad boy and we've all been there. Charles Brown is a great character and I liked how the author peeled back the layers of his character to reveal more than just good looks. And we all love a bit of staff room gossip. I would have preferred it to have been a full length novel so the drama was played out a bit more, but if it's part of a series hopefully some of the characters will reappear.
a novella, a 1st read for me from Emma Lee-Potter, love this style of writing ... a quick, don't blink or it will be over kind of book, so short ... jammed packed full of the cutest characters, did I mention I love the cover?? so cute!! it was not a heavy read, very lighthearted. My Mom was a teacher, so was my Dad .. so I know the stories that are told in those teacher lounges ... LOL!! We have some interesting kids in the world ... they come up with lots of funny times to tell the weirdest stories ever. (
Light relationship book. Appropriate for younger readers. Fun quick read. Not to much depth. A little predictable for my taste.
Entertaining enough to keep me reading to the end but the ending was too abrupt to be entirely satisfying
4 stars
I honestly couldn't get into this short read. At every turn confusion rang true for me. The first chapter just didn't catch my interest and by the time the book came to an end I still wasn't hooked even though it was a good short story.
Halo you sexy Reading
The way this story abruptly ended has me totally confused. So many plots in the story were left unanswered, while a very small part of the story became the conclusion. I feel like I wasted my time reading this.
